Uniqlo breaks into Singapore market with a heartland twist

Uniqlo - Coming to a heartland near you this 2009!

With the advent of cutting edge labels such as Y3 and Just Cavalli making their debut along the busy streets of Orchard Road this 2009, the heartlands are quick to catch on the trend as well.
Japan’s leading casual wear label, Uniqlo, will be gracing Singapore on 9 April 2009 for the very first time with a surprising first stop – the heartland of Tampines - with a 8700 square feet store.

The Tampines 1 shopping mall, currently under construction, will be the first time a heartland mall plays host to an inaugural boutique of a label possessing a caliber as esteemed as Uniqlo’s. This will be followed by a second and bigger 10,000 square feet boutique in the ION Orchard mall in June.

The Singapore boutiques will be joining the other 746 stores the Uniqlo brand has across Japan, and 66 overseas stores in France, Britain, China, Hong Kong and United States. Adding Singapore to the list would create a foothold for Uniqlo in the South East Asian markets and accelerate the fashion label's global outreach.

Uniqlo’s provision of quality for a low cost is the perfect answer to your wardrobe woes this recession season.
